The Beloit College men's basketball team shot well, over 46-percent from the floor, but Lake Forest College hit over 60-percent of their field goals to top the Buccaneers 98-70 Saturday afternoon in Lake Forest.
The Bucs shot over 46-percent (25-54) from the floor, 42-percent (8-19) from three-point range and 63-percent (12-19) from the free throw line in the contest. The Foresters were on fire on their home court shooting 62-percent (36-58) from the field, 50-percent (6-12) from beyond the arc and nearly 91-percent (20-22) from the charity stripe in the game.
Turnovers were key in the game as the Foresters turned 23 Buccaneer turnovers into 26 points compared to the Bucs' 11 points on LFC's nine turnovers.
Tristan Shoup and
Andrew Walters led Beloit with 20 points each and combined for 16 rebounds. Shoup added a game-high five assists in the contest.
Next Up: The Bucs return to Flood Arena for three straight home games. Beloit will host St. Norbert College Tuesday, February 5 at 7:30 p.m., Knox College Saturday, February 9 at 3 p.m. and Grinnell College Wednesday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m. in a rescheduled contest. The Buccaneer seniors will be recognized during Saturday's game against Knox.
