Bucs Win Second Straight Topping Knox on Senior Day

The Beloit College women's basketball team celebrated the seniors in style with a 71-60 win over Knox College, tied for fourth in the Midwest Conference standings, in Flood Arena Saturday afternoon. The victory marks the Buccaneers' second straight after BC topped St. Norbert, tied with Knox for fourth in the league, Tuesday evening. Beloit found that rhythm in the second half as increased ball movement led to three after three after three. Shelby Kline hit the first top open the scoring in the third for the Bucs. In Beloit's next offensive possession, Kelly McClean found Lauren Glaser for the triple and then Kelly Loudon got in on the action making it three consecutive possessions with a three ball. Candace Cunningham interrupted the party from beyond the arc with a layup. Just 30 seconds later Loudon struck again, and then once more. All in all, in the first 4:50 of the third quarter, the Bucs knocked down five threes and a layup to take a 40-36 lead in the game.

The Bucs outscored the Prairie Fire 25-15, exceeding their total from the entire first half of the game, in the third quarter and held the lead the rest of the way.

For the game, the Bucs shot 44-percent (24-54) from the field, 36-percent (10-28) from three-point range and 68-percent (13-19) from the free throw line.
