Bucs Fall at Alma

The Beloit College men's lacrosse team fell to the Scots 25-8 on the road Tuesday evening.

The Buccaneers were outshot 62-29 in the contest as the offense was hindered by turnovers.

The high-powered Alma offense jumped out to a quick start with four goal in the first 4:18 of the game. Andrei Prikhodko got the Bucs on the board with an unassisted man-down goal at the 10:28 mark. Mark Gannon and Michael Boyland teamed up for a goal at the 3:56 mark and the combination flipped roles with Gannon assisting Boyland on a second goal just over 30 seconds later to wrap up the scoring in the first quarter with Alma leading 6-3.

The Bucs were outscored 6-1 in the second but continued to press through the second half scoring two goals in each of the third and fourth quarters.

Prikhodko led Beloit offensively with four goals on 13 shots. He added four ground balls and was 2-3 on faceoffs. Tobin Greenwald was the most active on loose ball opportunities with nine groundballs. Luke Thomson added six in the game. Corbin Odom won more than half of the faceoffs taken, 18-34.

The Bucs will return to Beloit to host Concordia Wisconsin for the home opener Saturday, March 16. The game is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
