The Beloit College men's lacrosse team was unable to comeback from MSOE's big first half in a 17-10 loss on the road Wednesday.
The offenses combined for 11 goals in the first 15 minutes of play. Milwaukee School of Engineering held a 7-4 advantage after the first period and extended their advantage to 11-6 at halftime. Andrei Prikhodko and Mark Gannon provided the majority of offense for Beloit in the first. Prikhodko tallied two goals, one unassisted and the other off a pass from Gannon. Gannon also notched two goals in the first 15 minutes, one unassisted and Steven Soli registered the assist on the Bucs' fourth goal of the quarter. Michael Boyland got into the scoring column in the second quarter finding the back of the net twice, both off assists from Gannon to wrap up the scoring in the first half for Beloit.
Boyland found teammates Ezra Rogers and Corbin Odom for the first two goals of the third period. Rogers also capped the scoring in the third with an unassisted goal with 1:17 on the clock. Luke Thomson was the lone Buc to beat the keeper in the fourth quarter.
Gannon's five points led Beloit followed by Boyland's four as the pair tallied two goals apiece. Thomson recorded five groundballs in the game.David Kunczynski made 12 saves in the game.Â
The Bucs will host Northwestern (MN) Saturday. The contest is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
