The Beloit College women's lacrosse team fell to a surging Aurora University squad 9-2 on a cold, windy day at Strong Stadium Saturday. The Spartans are second in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference and winners of their last six contests. The Buccaneers fall to 3-7 in league play.
Kieran Rodning posted her 20th goal of the season off an assist from Fiona Milchman to get the Bucs on the board just under 10 minutes into the game. In the second half, it was Nicole Dolcimascolo tallying her 30th of the season with an unassisted score with 21:22 on the clock.
Dolcimascolo and Melinda Balades tied for team high honors with four groundballs apiece. Dolcimascolo caused a team high five turnovers.
Alexa Arakelian posted 14 saves in the game bringing her season total to 142.
The Bucs will head on the road for their next two outings visiting Monmouth, Illinois to take on the Scots Friday, April 19. Following the 2 p.m. matchup with Monmouth Beloit will head the opposite direction up to Minnesota to face the University of Northwest (MN) in St. Paul Saturday at noon.
