The Beloit College women's lacrosse team fell to Monmouth College 20-9 Friday afternoon on the road.
The contest was close for the first 17 minutes. Kayla Erickson negated the Scots' opening goal with an unassisted score with 21:56 on the clock. After another Monmouth goal, Fiona Milchman tallied back-t0-back goals at 15:33 and 12:58 to give the Buccaneers a 3-2 lead. The Scots responded with four straight to reclaim the advantage that they would hold on to the rest of the way.
Sy Dragon found the back of the net off an assist from Nicole Dolcimascolo and Olivia Nasatir jumped into the scoring column to round out for the first half scorers for the Bucs.
The second half saw Dolcimascolo adding to her point total with two goals, Milchman striking with one more and Nastair notching her second goal of the game.
Kaitlyn Erickson and Kieran Rodning were the most active defensively combining for nine caused turnovers and 11 groundballs.
Alexa Arakelian made seven saves in goal for Beloit.
The Bucs will turn around and head north to Minnesota for a noon matchup with the University of Northwestern in St. Paul Saturday.
