The Beloit College women's lacrosse team fell to the University of Northwestern (Minn.) on the road Saturday afternoon following a long trip after playing at Monmouth Friday afternoon.
The Buccaneers were unable to bounce back from a 7-4 halftime deficit. Fiona Milchman notched the first two goals of the game for Beloit, sandwiched in between two Eagle scores. Kieran Rodning made it back-to-back Buc goals following Milchman's second tally to give Beloit a 3-2 advantage at the 20:40 mark.
Five straight from UNW pushed the Eagle lead to 7-3 but Olivia Nasatir reclaimed momentum for the Bucs with the final goal of the half with 3:33 on the clock to make it 7-4.
Nicole Dolcimascolo beat the Eagle keeper for the first two goals of the second half to pull Beloit to within one, 7-6 with under 27 minutes to play but UNW responded with two of their own. Dolcimascolo halted the run on an unassisted score to make it 9-7 with just under seven to go.
Following two Eagle tallies, Dolcimascolo struck again, this time finding the back of the net off a pass from Milchman to make it 11-8 with 3:46 remaining. A UNW goal was negated by Rodning's player-up goal with just over a minute left for the final.
Dolcimascolo led the Buc offense with four goals on six shots on goal. Nasatir added four groundballs to her one goal and five Bucs registered a caused turnover in the contest.
Alexa Arakelian tallied a season high 21 saves in the game.
