The Beloit College women's lacrosse team fell to Cornell College 17-7 on the road Thursday evening.
Nicole Dolcimascolo opened the scoring less than two minutes into the contest with an unassisted score.
Sy Dragon netted her first goal of the game off beating the keeper off an assist from Dolcimascolo with 14:23 on the clock in the first half. Dragon and Dolcimascolo teamed up for a second time seven minutes later before Kayla Erickson found the back of the net with 6:55 on the clock. Dolcimascolo wrapped up the scoring in the first half for the Buccaneers with another unassisted score with less than five minutes remaining in the first half.
Dragon notched her third goal of the game to open scoring in the second half as
Kieran Rodning tallied the assist at the 27:48 mark.
Madeline Trinco posted the final goal of the game beating the Rams' keeper with less than six minutes to play.
Dragon's three goals led the Bucs as Dolcimascolo tallied the most points for Beloit, four on two goals and two assists. She also posted nine groundballs. Rodning,
Melinda Balades, and Kaitlyn Erickson were active on defense each causing multiple turnovers in the game.
Alexa Arakelian made 13 saves in the complete game in net for the Bucs.
The Bucs will host a pair of Iowa-based colleges for Family Weekend this coming weekend. Loras College will visit Strong Stadium at 7 p.m. Saturday followed by a 2 p.m. meeting with Wartburg College.
