The Beloit College women's tennis team opened the season with a 9-0 sweep of Dominican University Saturday afternoon at the Strong Stadium Tennis Courts in Beloit. 

Kiri Youngquist, Hayden Lamphere, Emma Hahn, Priya Heinen, Makayla Jo Zundel and Jamie Kelly each picked up their first wins of the season in singles play. In doubles action Heinen teamed with Youngquist for an 8-4 win over Dominican's Juliana Neiza and Julia Hochstatter at number one doubles. Hahn and Lamphere cruised by Maya Banks and Alexis Hoskins at number two doubles with a score of 8-1. Zundel and Kelly took down Gladys Bautista and Evelin Silva at number three doubles with another 8-1 victory. 

Next up for the Buc women's tennis program is a road trip south of the border. Beloit will head to Jacksonville, Illinois for a morning meeting with Illinois College Saturday, September 7 before heading back on the road for an afternoon matchup at Monmouth. On the way back to Beloit, the Bucs will make a pit stop in Galesburg, Illinois to face the Knox College Prairie Fire Sunday morning.
