The Beloit College men's soccer team was unsure it would even be able to host Concordia University Wisconsin this morning as the forecast showed strong thunderstorms coursing the area throughout the day but the weather held off for ample, albeit hot, playing conditions. In the thick humidity, the Buccaneers fell to the Falcons 4-0 Wednesday.
The Buc defense held off the fast-paced CUW offense through the first 20 minutes but the Falcons found the back of the net in the 21st minute. The unbeaten squad from CUW added three more scores over the course of the game to move to 5-0 on the season.
Beloit's offense wasn't without its opportunities.
Avery Durkee found some space in the box and was able to guide the ball toward the near post. He beat the keeper on the shot but the ball caromed off the inside of the post and just stayed in play.
Patrick Casola and conor Waldron also registered shots on goal in the game.
Luis Rodriguez made four saves in the complete game in net for Beloit.
Up Next: The Bucs will head to Rock Island, Illinois to take on Augustana College Saturday, September 14 at 4 p.m.
