Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Buc Women Fall to Vikings on the Road

The Buccaneer women's soccer team fell to Augustana (Ill.) 5-1 on the road Saturday. The Vikings were ranked sixth in the Central Region at the completion of the 2018 season.

The unbeaten Augustana squad (4-0) scored two goals in the first four minutes of the game and that was all they would need to pick up the win. The Buccaneers didn't fold cutting the 0-2 deficit in half as Mikaila Davis notched her first collegiate score off an assist from Makenna Downing in the 27th minute.

AC added a third goal before the half and two more in the second to put the game out of reach.

Davis found the back of the net on her sole shot of the contest. Downing, who registered the assist, saw three offensive chances with three shots on goal and Taylor Goodyear added another for the Bucs.

In goal, Connor Keegan-Lloyd tallied six saves in the game in just under 44 minutes in net. Audrey Ketterer turned away four Viking shots in a little over 45 minutes of play.

Beloit will look to bounce back against Rockford University Wednesday, September 18 at 5 p.m. at the Strong Soccer Complex in Beloit.
