The Beloit College volleyball team opened the Blue Angels Bash hosted by Mount Mary University with two wins Friday. The Buccaneers rolled by Silver Lake College 3-0 (25-8, 25-7, 25-8) before topping Iowa Wesleyan in a tight 3-0 () sweep.
The Bucs' offense was on point in the first match hammering down 36 kills while committing just four errors as a team for a hitting percentage of .464.
Amanda Baran led all players with 13 kills while
Eva Laun-Smith joined her senior counterpart in double figures with 11. Beloit was also dialed in from the service line tallying 18 service aces in the three-setter led by four from
Komachi Naoe.
The second match was more of a battle. Laun-Smith led the Buc offense at the net with 15 kills while Baran notched 10. Laun-Smith made it a double-double with a team-high 18 digs.
Courtnie Thomas and
Jade Mosquera bolstered the backcourt with 16 digs each.
The Bucs wrap up play in the Blue Angels Bash tomorrow with a pair of matches against Eureka College and North Central University.
