The Beloit College women's basketball team led by two points following the first quarter but a 21-9 second quarter for the Green Knights led to a 68-52 St. Norbert victory Wednesday night in Flood Arena. 

The Buccaneers used the long ball to take a first quarter lead hitting 3-8 from behind the arc while St. Norbert missed on all three of their long range attempts. Both teams were fairly efficient with the Bucs shooting 44-percent from the field in the quarter and SNC at 50-percent. The second quarter was a different story. 

St. Norbert improved to 53-percent from the field in the second ten minute period while the Bucs shot just 33-percent in the quarter. The Green Knights really got going in the paint in the second quarter outscoring Beloit 14-4 in the lane to take a 36-26 advantage at halftime. 

Points in the paint would be the difference in the game as the Green Knights continued to find free areas in the lane ending with a 52-20 sway in points in the paint in the contest. 

Dani Strejc led three Bucs in double figures scoring with 12 points adding three assists and a steal. T'Aira Boyance got the rim hitting 5-7 of her shots from the field for 11 points and Lauren Glaser dropped in ten points adding four assists in the game. Christy Melton tallied her sixth game with double digit rebounds hauling in 12 Wednesday. 

Up Next: The Bucs will host Monmouth College Saturday at 3 p.m. The Scots won the first meeting between the two teams, a 76-52 win on their home court January 4.
