The Beloit College women's basketball team fell to Monmouth College, ranked second in the latest Midwest Conference standings, 84-48 Saturday afternoon in Flood Arena.
The Buccaneers struggled offensively in the first half shooting just 17-percent and 22-percent in the first and second quarters respectively. Although Beloit picked up the offense in the second half, Monmouth used their height and length in the paint to continue to build on their lead.
Points in the paint and points off turnovers were the name of the game Saturday. The Scots outscored the Bucs 50-14 on points in the paint and 38-9 on points off turnovers.
T'Aira Boyance led the Bucs with 14 points including a perfect 8-8 outing at the free throw line. She added two assists, three steals and a block in the game.
Kelly Loudon and
Lauren Glaser joined Boyance in double figures with ten apiece while Loudon was one rebound shy of a double-double.
Kelly McLean led Beloit with three assists.
Up Next: Beloit will head to Ripon College Tuesday, January 21. The Red Hawks lead the Midwest Conference and are currently unbeaten in league play. TIpoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
