The Beloit College women's basketball team fell to Knox College 74-45 Friday night in Flood Arena.
The Buccaneers struggled to get going in the first half as the Prairie Fire defensive pressure forced 19 turnovers in the first 20 minutes of the game. Beloit shot just 29-percent from the floor in the first half to go into halftime facing a 30-12 deficit.
Beloit turned it around offensively in the second half with a 14-point third quarter and 19-point fourth but the lead was too great. The Bucs limited their giveaways to just five in the second half while picking up their offensive efficiency bolstered by a hot hand for
Kelly Loudon.
Loudon scored 16 in the second half en route to a game-high 23 points. She was 8-17 from the floor and 6-11 from three-point range while tying teammate
Christy Melton for game high honors in rebounds with seven.
Lauren Glaser dished out five assists to lead Beloit.
The Bucs return to Flood Arena to host Illinois College Saturday. Tipoff is slated for 3 p.m.
