The Beloit College men's basketball team fell to Monmouth College 70-60 in a back-and-forth affair Saturday afternoon. The lead changed hands 11 times in the contest.
The Scots won the turnover battle outscoring the Bucs 24-15 and had the advantage on the glass with seven more second chance points.
The Buccaneers trailed 37-28 at the intermission but, despite a closer second half, were unable to make the comeback. Both teams shot 50-percent or better from the field and from three-point range.
First-year
Michael Polakoski continued to have the hot hand hitting 6-10 from the floor and 5-8 from downtown for a team-high 19 points.
Andrew Walters registered a solid game all around recording 11 points, nine rebounds and six assists.
Darin Empereur joined the double digit scoring club with 10 in the game.
