Buc Men Fall to National Top Ten Shooting Team

The Beloit College men's basketball team fell to one of the top shooting teams in the nation in a 100-69 loss at Lake Forest College Wednesday evening. Shooting over 50-percent from the field per game, the Foresters are the top shooting team in the Midwest Conference and rank eighth in NCAA Division III this season.

The Buccaneers shot well in the first half at 50-percent from the floor but LFC hit a phenomenal 70-percent of their 33 shots in the first 20 minutes. For the game, Beloit shot 49-percent (25-51) while Lake Forest knocked down 64-percent (41-64). From long range, BC was 10-25, 40-percent, while the Foresters went 11-21 for an efficiency of 52-percent. In addition to the blistering shooting performance for LFC, the Foresters capitalized on Buc miscues outscoring Beloit 35-8 in points off turnovers.

Tristan Shoup bolstered the Beloit offense hitting 9-11 from the field, 3-4 from three-point range and both of his shots from the charity stripe for a team-high 23 points. Andrew Walters added 13 points and posted team-highs in rebounds (7) and assists (5). Mylan Walters joined his teammates in double figures with 11 points including 3-5 from beyond the arc.

The Bucs wrap up their four-game road streak at Illinois College Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
