Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Bucs Upended by Fourth Quarter Comeback

The Beloit College men's lacrosse team led Carroll University after first and third quarters but eventually fell to the Pioneers 11-8 Saturday evening at Strong Stadium.

The Bucs' Tobin Greenwald opened the scoring in the game with an unassisted score less than two minutes into the game. Under a minute later, Carroll tallied the equalizer but Beloit had the answer. Hunter Brown found the back of the net with 4:47 remaining and just over a minute later, he found Andrei Prikhodko for the score to give the Bucs a 3-1 advantage. A Pioneer goal with 1:01 on the scoreboard made it 3-2 in favor of Beloit after the first quarter.

The Pioneers dominated the second quarter with a flurry of offense outscoring the Bucs 5-2 in the period to take a 7-4 lead into the intermission.

Beloit regrouped during the break and had everything working in the third quarter. The Bucs' defense stymied the Pioneer offense blanking Carroll in the period while the offense scored three goals. Keeler Tardiff sandwiched a Prikhodko goal with Prikhodko registering assists on both Tardiff scores to reclaim the lead for Beloit 8-7 after three complete.

Carroll stepped up the pressure in the fourth knotting the game with 13:39 on the board and taking the lead at the 11:43 mark. They would add two more throughout the fourth to seal the game.

Tardiff and Prikhodko each tallied three goals while Prikhodko added two assists in the contest to lead Beloit offensively. Tardiff was the most active on loose ball situations with six groundballs. Tardiff and Greenwald shared game-high honors with three caused turnovers apiece.

Quinn Olsson suffered the loss in net registering 11 saves in the complete game in goal.

Up Next: The Bucs will head to Chicago to face Illinois Institute of Technology Tuesday at 6 p.m. to open a four game road stretch. Beloit returns to Strong Stadium Wednesday, March 25 to host Benedictine at 6 p.m.
