The Beloit College men's soccer team dropped a non-conference matchup with a solid crew from UW-Whitewater 2-0 in Beloit, Wisconsin Tuesday afternoon.
Recent rain caused slick conditions on the pitch as the Buccaneers and Warhawks batted at the Strong Stadium Complex.
Inside the first ten minutes, the Warhawks sent a corner kick into the box and the ball bounced around before a striker was able to connect to give UW-W the 1-0 lead.
Beloit nearly tallied the equalizer as
Conor Waldron registered the Bucs' best offensive opportunity of the game. Waldron found himself nearly one-on-one with the Warhawk keeper but his blast was thwarted.
The 1-0 score held until the 80th minute when UW-Whitewater found the back of the net to round out the scoring.
Beloit's
Brock Bidwell was stellar in net turning away nine UW-W shots on goal.
