The Beloit College women's basketball team dropped its season opener 77-49 at Millikin University Wednesday night.
The Buccaneers held pace with the Big Blue until late in the first quarter. With the score tied 19-19 with less than two minutes remaining in the first, MU went on a 23-4 run to close out the first half.
Beloit came out with the hot hand nailing 64-percent of their shots from the field in the first 10 minutes. Millikin capitalized on Beloit miscues with a 27-11 advantage on points off turnovers.
Three Bucs tallied double digit points led by
T'Aira Boyance with 13 bolstered by a 5-8 performance from the charity stripe.
Elizabeth Kalk and
Addyson Ciochon each had 12.
Cora Linos led Beloit on the glass hauling in eight rebounds.
