The Beloit College volleyball team dropped their first match of the Pointer Invitational hosted by UW-Stevens Point Friday afternoon. The Buccaneers fell to Saint Mary's (MN) 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-23).
The Bucs struggled to gain their footing offensively hitting just .034 in the contest. The defense held SMU to just a .188 hit percentage in the contest including a .086 attack percentage in the second set.
Isabel Conchillo Martinez led Beloit with seven kills adding a block.
Angela Donath,
Jade Mosquera and
Cora Linos all tallied aces from the service line in the contest. Linos set up her teammates on 13 attacks while Donath led the backcourt with 12 digs in the match.
Beloit continues play in the Pointer Invitational with a pair of matches Saturday. The Bucs will kickoff the day with a 10 a.m. matchup with Carleton College followed by a 2 p.m. meeting with Marian University.
