The Beloit College women's soccer team battled against a solid Carroll squad on the road Wednesday night but fell to the Pioneers 1-0 in the non-conference matchup.
The lone goal came in the 61st minute off of a penalty kick following a handball.
The Pioneers' limited Beloit's offensive opportunities in the contest allowing a single shot on goal. Meanwhile the Buccaneers met every Pioneer challenge head on with some fantastic defensive plays including a phenomenal goal line save by a defender in the first half.
Twenty-two Bucs saw action in the game with
Audrey Ketterer and
Maya Betzler each posting 45 minutes in goal. Ketterer made two saves while the defense was credited with another.
Makenna Downing registered the squad's best offensive opportunity with a shot on goal.
