Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Buc Men Fall at WLC

The Beloit College men's soccer team dropped a hard fought battle at Wisconsin Lutheran College Wednesday evening. The Bucs fell to the Warriors 2-1 under the lights in Milwaukee.

The Warriors put the pressure on from the opening kickoff finding the back of the net just 13 seconds into the contest. WLC added a second goal in the 11th minute to make it 2-0.

Beloit didn't fold and grew more comfortable in the game eventually finding their stride offensively. The Bucs registered 12 shots in the first 45 but couldn't find the back of the net. That changed shortly into the second half.

In the 47th minute, Derek Veenstra played the ball out wide to the left side of the box. Brandon Joly chased it down and one-timed it back into the middle of the box where Patrick Casola put his right boot on it redirecting the ball passed WLC's diving keeper and into the lower right corner to cut the deficit in half 2-1.

The Bucs continued to press sending as many balls forward as they could especially late in the game but they were unable to tally the equalizer.

Beloit heads back out on the road Friday, this time to Plymouth, Wisconsin to take on the Muskies of Lakeland University. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
