Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Ciochon Drops 20 in Bucs' Loss on the Road

Following a lengthy break from the court, the Beloit College women's basketball team struggled to get going offensively in a 65-56 loss at Knox College Saturday afternoon.

The Buccaneers had not seen game action since December 28 due to COVID-19 protocols before Saturday's game. A slow start offensively had Beloit working back from a 19-6 deficit after the first quarter of play.

The Bucs got back into a groove increasing their offensive efficiency each quarter but couldn't mount the comeback from the first quarter gap despite a great push in the fourth quarter. Beloit trailed by as many as 20 in the final seven minutes of action.

Over the next 6:30, Addyson Ciochon took over scoring 10 points to bolster a 17-4 Beloit run that pulled the Bucs to within seven, 63-56 with just 39 seconds left. The Prairie Fire sealed the game at the free throw line.

Ciochon ended up leading all players with 20 points including 12-19 from the charity stripe. T'Aira Boyance joined her teammate in double figures with 13 points adding a team high seven boards. Hannah Welte swiped three steals in the game, tied for game-high honors.
