T'Aira Boyance registered a phenomenal first half for the Buccaneers Thursday but Beloit College eventually fell to Lake Forest College 72-62 in Flood Arena.
Boyance dropped in half of the team's 36 points in the first 20 minutes of action on 8-10 from the field and 2-3 from the free throw line adding three steals. Her slashing style of play bolstered the Bucs' 26-14 advantage on points in the paint in the first half. Still Beloit went into the intermission facing a narrow deficit, 37-36.
The Bucs claimed the lead after the third quarter outscoring the Foresters 17-15 in the period to head into the final quarter with a 53-52 advantage.
The final quarter belonged to LFC as the Foresters used seven free throws to bolster a 20-point quarter. Meanwhile, Beloit cooled off offensively shooting just 25-percent from the floor in the final period of play leading to the final.
Boyance led Beloit with 20 points.
Addyson Ciochon dropped in 15 and registered a game-high seven boards.
Elizabeth Kalk also tallied 15 points and posted a team-high three assists.
Hannah Welte pressured the Forester ball handlers swiping a game-high five steals in the game.
