A big second half wasn't enough for the Beloit College men's basketball team as the Buccaneers fell to Grinnell College 99-83 on the road Tuesday evening.
Azeez Ganiyu and
Michael Myles had a fantastic night for Beloit combining for 39 points in the contest.
The Pioneers built a double figure lead over the first ten minutes of the first half. By the end of the first 20 minutes of action, the gap swelled to 30, 56-26.
The Bucs turned the tables in the second half shooting 61-percent (22-36) from the floor and 67-percent (6-9) from three-point range. A 10-1 spurt midway through the half bolstered Beloit as the Bucs outscored Grinnell 57-43 in the final 20 minutes of play but it wasn't enough to complete the comeback.
Turnovers proved costly for the Bucs as the Pioneers scored 43 points off miscues compared to just seven for Beloit.
Ganiyu led Beloit with 20 points followed by Myles' 19.
Andrew Walters added 14 rebounds and a game-high seven assists.
