BELOIT, Wis. - For the fourth time in their seven conference games this season, Beloit's men's soccer team ended with a tie, playing Lawrence University to a 1-1 draw on Thursday afternoon. Beloit also held the shot advantage 28-15, including 11-7 in shots on goal.
Lawrence (2-9-5, 1-3-3 MWC) broke a scoreless tie in the 29th minute when Derek Morales scored on a Penalty Kick, which is where the score would remain at halftime.
Beloit (3-7-4, 2-1-4 MWC) would tie things up in the 61st minute when Jose Larraim netted his second goal of the season on an assist from Prabaldeep Khare. Both teams had chances to win down the stretch, but solid defense on both sides prevented that.
Brock Bidwell played the entire game in goal for the Buccaneers, making six saves. His counterpart, Nason Lancina recorded 10 saves for Lawrence, while also playing all 90 minutes.
With the tie, Beloit is officially eliminated from contention for the Midwest Conference Tournament. The Buccaneers will close out their season on Saturday when they'll travel to Cornell College. That game will begin at 11 a.m. in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
