BELOIT, Wis. - Beloit's volleyball team sent their seniors out on a positive note Friday night, as they celebrated Senior Night with a five-set victory against Rockford University in a match that was back and forth all night. Beloit won the first set 25-22, before dropping the second by the same score. Beloit won the third set 25-18, before Rockford tied the match at two sets apiece with a 25-20 set four victory. The Buccaneers then finished the match off with a 15-12 victory in the fifth and final set.
Beloit was led by
Katrina Sanchez's 20 kills, to go along with 18 digs. Senior
Komachi Naoe recorded a match-high 29 digs, while
Abbie Schmidt finished with a match-high 40 assists.
Cora Linos added 10 kills, while senior
Jade Mosquera registered 16 digs.
Della Crain led Rockford with 19 kills and three service aces. Alexis Brashaw added a match-high five blocks, while Crain finished with four blocks. Jessica Witkowski and Melody Moreno led the Regents in assists (26) and digs (26), respectively.
Beloit will finish their 2022 season on Saturday when they'll travel to Ripon College. That match will begin at 1 p.m. in Ripon, Wis.
