BELOIT, Wis. - One night after falling to Lake Forest in four sets, Beloit's volleyball team celebrated Homecoming with a four-set victory against Lawrence University. The Buccaneers took the first set in convincing fashion, 25-12, before winning the second 25-22. Lawrence won the third set 25-21, but Beloit finished off the Vikings with a 25-19 set four victory.
Beloit (4-12, 2-3 MWC) also held the edge in kills (42-36), service aces (11-3), blocks (3-1), assists (40-35), and digs (76-74). The Buccaneers finished the match with a hitting percentage of .159.
Katrina Sanchez led Beloit in kills (12), aces (4), and digs (23), while
Cora Linos recorded a match-high three blocks.
Abbie Schmidt led the Buccaneers with 19 assists.
Lawrence (1-21, 0-3 MWC) was led by Aliana Butler-Gray's 23 kills, while Marife Enteneza led the Vikings in assists with 30. Daphne Piotrowski posted 23 digs to lead Lawrence.
Beloit will be in action again on Tuesday when they'll travel to Dubuque, Iowa to take on Loras College at 7 p.m.
