The Beloit College men's basketball team fell to Grinnell College 104-84 in the squad's home finale of the 2021-2022 season.
The fast-paced, three-point shooting style of the Pioneers proved too much for the Buccaneers Tuesday night. Beloit dropped in more field goals than Grinnell but 18 of the Pioneers' 31 field goals made were from distance. The Bucs held a major advantage in the paint, outscoring their opponent 54-26 in the contest.Â
On top of the sway from the three-point line, Grinnell also went to the free throw line more times in the game going 24-29 from the charity stripe. Beloit was just 11-19 from the line.Â
Brian Rusch led Beloit with 16 points on 6-11 from the floor including 4-7 from long range.
Azeez Ganiyu had a highlight reel with multiple alley-oops slammed down and two-handed throw downs that had the crowd roaring. Ganiyu ended up with 14 points on 7-11 from the floor.
Jabari Scuefield and
Mylan Walters joined their teammates in double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively.
Andrew Walters was a workhorse with 13 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and a pair of steals.Â
