Andrew Walters netted a big double-double Saturday afternoon but it wasn't enough as the Beloit College men's basketball team fell to Lake Forest College 77-63 on the road.
The Bucs struggled to gain offensive momentum shooting just over 19-percent from the floor in the first half while dropping in one of their 10 tries from behind the three-point line. Despite the shooting woes, Beloit remained close in a back-and-forth half. A jumper from
Mylan Walters with 3:19 left in the period gave the Bucs a two-point advantage, 25-23. The Foresters countered with a 9-0 run to close out the half and head into the lockerroom with a 32-25 lead.
Beloit picked it up in the second half with a shooting efficiency over 43-percent from the floor and 55-percent from long range but it wasn't enough to complete the comeback and the Foresters improved their efficiency equally.
Walters led the Bucs with 20 points bolstered by 3-7 from distance. He added 16 boards for the double-double and tallied a team-high three assists.
Mylan Walters also posted double figures with 13 points adding three steals in the contest.
