The Beloit College men's basketball team went to the line just 10 times while the Blue Boys were 19-25 from the charity stripe en route to a 91-68 Illinois College win over the Buccaneers in Jacksonville, Illinois Monday night.
The Bucs couldn't stop IC's Jake Mazrimas who had the hot hand for the night. The junior forward was 12-17 from the floor, 6-8 from three-point range and 6-6 from the free throw line to lead all players with 36 points.
Beloit shot well at over 48-percent from the floor in the contest including dropping buckets at a 52-percent clip in the second half. The Bucs also limited turnovers in the contest, committing just 12 but the Blue Boys capitalized scoring 18 points off Beloit miscues. Illinois College took care of the ball extremely well turning the ball over just three times in the game.
Guards
Mylan Walters and
Quinten Lottig paced the Bucs with 12 points each. Lottig was 4-5 from the floor including 3-4 from downtown in the game.
Andrew Walters joined his teammates in double figures with 11 points and was one rebound shy of his second straight double-double. He added six assists in the game.
