The Beloit College baseball team fell to a solid Oswego State squad 9-4 Thursday morning.
Oswego tallied multiple runs in three of the first four innings to put the pressure on Beloit. Midway through the fourth, the Buccaneers faced a 7-2 deficit.
James Wicker scored on a wild pitch to open the scoring for Beloit in the bottom of the first.
Brett Kiger grounded out to bring
Garrison Ferone in to score in the same inning to tie it at 2-2.
Later in the game, down 8-2,
Matt O'Leary added to the Buc total with a longball solo shot. Another wild pitch in the seventh made it 8-4 before an Oswego homer in the ninth wrapped up the scoring.
The Bucs were held to just three hits in the game.
Jacob Sligar suffered the loss in the game striking out four while allowing six earned runs in four innings of work.
Eamon Burke came in for the final five innings fanning six without issuing a walk and allowing just three hits and a pair of runs.
