Lyng and Schweit Earn All-Region Honors

BELOIT, Wis. - Yesterday, D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings both released their All-Region Teams. Two Buccaneers earned All-Region Third Team honors. Ben Schweit (Simi Valley, CA.) earned a spot on the 2026 D3baseball.com All-Region Region 9 Third Team, while Will Lyng (Helena, MT) was named to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA DIII Region IX All-Region Third Team. 

Schweit and Lyng both earned MWC First-Team honors this year. Schweit was named the 2026 MWC Pitcher of the Year after proving himself as one of conference's top pitchers all season long. He started six conference games across a league-high 45.2 innings while throwing three complete games – the rest of the MWC only combined for two. He paced the conference in walks allowed (4), strikeouts (45) and strikeouts looking (25). Schweit was also top five in the MWC in ERA (second, 2.76), saves (fourth, 1), runs allowed (t-fourth, 18), earned runs allowed (t-third, 14), home runs allowed (t-third, 1) and batting average against (fifth, .261).

Lyng had a break out season for the Bucs, leading the team and conference with a 2.26 ERA and a WHIP of 1.06. He posted a 4-1 record while appearing in 12 games and making 8 starts. His WHIP was top 35 in DIII this season. 

About ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. III All-Region Teams:
The 2026 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region teams and Regional Players of the Year have been announced across all 10 regions. Selections were voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and coordinated by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.

Paul Hesse of the University of Mount Union serves as Chair of the ABCA NCAA Division III All-America & Coach of the Year Committee. Committee members also include Brian Casey (U.S. Coast Guard Academy), Pete Egbert (Misericordia University), Dan Gomez (Western New England University), Ray Hedrick (Randolph-Macon College), Luke Johnson (North Park University), Scott Laverty (Chapman University), Yogi Lutz (Alvernia University), Nick Pontari (SUNY Brockport), and Kevin Tomasiewicz (University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh).

The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-America teams will be announced on the evening of Thursday, May 28, following the Opening Ceremony at the 2026 NCAA Division III World Series in Eastlake, Ohio. Only First Team All-Region selections are eligible for All-America honors.

ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams for all divisions will be announced on Wednesday, June 17, while the 2026 ABCA NCAA Division III Region All-Defensive teams will be released on Thursday, June 18.

The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now spans nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first introduced in 2007.

The 2026 D3baseball.com All-Region teams have been announced.

The 2026 season marks the 14th season that D3baseball.com has named All-Region teams, with more than 1,000 players nominated. The ballot was then made available to D3baseball.com staff and contributors from which three teams in each region were determined.

For each of the ten regions, there is a regional player of the year (a batter), a pitcher of the year, a rookie of the year (must be a freshman) and a coach of the year.

We thank all the Sports Information Directors at the various institutions that nominated players. All SIDs and coaches were contacted as the season wound down with information on how to get their players considered.
