The Beloit College baseball team wrapped up the 2022 season at Illinois College Sunday with an 8-6 loss to the Blue Boys. Beloit finishes the season with a 16-23 record including a 12-12 mark in the Midwest Conference.
The Buccaneers needed a win or some help from Grinnell Sunday but unfortunately Knox's comeback win against the Pioneers dashed Beloit's hope for a ticket to the Midwest Conference Tournament.
Brett Kiger had the Buc fans cheering in the top of the fourth with an absolute blast, a three-run homer that swung all the momentum Beloit's way. Illinois College stole some back with a solo shot in the bottom of the frame but Beloit had an immediate response.

Matt O'Leary tagged a base knock that plated two more more to make it 6-1.
That score held until the sixth when the Blue Boys' offense got on a roll. IC registered three runs in the sixth, a pair in the seventh to knot the game 6-6 and then a two-run blast in the eighth gave the Blue Boys the lead.
O'Leary led Beloit at the plate going 3-5 with two RBI and a run scored. Kiger was 2-4 at the plate with three RBI and a run scored.
Matt Crandall also registered a pair of hits, both going for doubles in the game.
