WHEATON, Ill. - Beloit's volleyball team lost a pair of three-set matches on Saturday on what was the final day of the two-day Wheaton (Ill.) Tournament. The Buccaneers fell to Benedictine (Ill.) in the morning session, before dropping an identical 3-0 decision to Wheaton in the afternoon.
Against Benedictine (2-4), Beloit dropped the first set 15-25, before also losing the next two, 20-25 and 11-25. Beloit was led by
Angela Donath's five kills, while
Jada Daniel and
Cora Linos each recorded four.
Abbie Schmidt led the Buccaneers in assists (14), to go along with nine digs, while
Katrina Sanchez's 10 digs led the team.
In the day's second match, Beloit fell to Wheaton (5-2) by a score of 14-25, 15-25, 14-25. In that match, Donath again led Beloit with five kills, while
Cora Linos led the team in blocks (3).
Abbie Schmidt and
Jade Mosquera led the Buccaneers in assists (10) and digs (8), respectively.
Beloit will be in action again on Tuesday when they'll host Eureka College. That match will begin at 7 p.m. at Flood Arena in Beloit, Wis.
