KENOSHA, Wis. - Facing what was one of their toughest opponents of the season, Beloit's volleyball team lost to Carthage College in three sets on Wednesday night. The Firebirds took the first set 25-14, before also winning the next two 25-19 and 25-21.
Carthage (8-2) finished the match with 42 kills, while Beloit recorded 26. The Firebirds also held the edge in service aces (12-4), assists (39-26), and digs (46-39).
Beloit was led by
Katrina Sanchez's nine kills, while
Angela Donath led the team in both aces (2) and digs (12).
Abbie Schmidt paced the Buccaneers in assists (22), while
Jada Daniel led the team in blocks (2).
Kaitie Rohe led Carthage in both kills and digs with 13 and 11, respectively. Madilyn Danielson added four aces, while Tatum Kebisek led the Firebirds in assists (22).
Beloit will try to rebound on Tuesday when they'll travel to Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, Wis. for a 7 p.m. match.
