BELOIT, Wis. - Beloit's men's soccer team earned their first victory of the season Thursday afternoon in a convincing 7-1 defeat of Maranatha Baptist University. The Buccaneers were led by a trio of goals off the foot of
Aiden Everett, which marks the junior's first goals of his collegiate career.
Beloit got the scoring started in the ninth minute on Prabaldeep Khare's first goal of the season. Everett followed with his first goal of the day in the 33rd minute, giving the Buccaneers a 2-0 halftime lead.
They would continue to rack up the goals in the second half, as
Allan Hernandez found the net in the 67th minute. Seen minutes later, Everett notched his second goal of the contest, followed by his third to complete the hat trick in the 76th minute. The Buccaneers' final goal would come from
Cesar Castro, before Maranatha added their lone goal in the final minutes.
Teddy Bahu played the entire game in goal for the Buccaneers, shutting out Maranatha until the 83rd minute. Maranatha Goal Keeper Ian Balyo saved six shots in his 80 minutes of work.
The Buccaneers will now try to build on this performance Sunday when they'll travel to Chicago to battle Illinois Tech at 3:30 p.m.
