RIPON, Wis. - Beloit opened their 2022 conference season Saturday morning with a 4-0 road loss to Ripon College. The Red Hawks scored twice in both halves to secure the victory.

Ripon (2-5-1, 1-0-0 MWC) broke a scoreless tie in the 22nd minute when Eli Dietzel netted his fourth goal of the season on an assist from Jacob Oppeneer. The Red Hawks would doubled that lead on a goal with 12 seconds left in the first half, coming from Andre Robertson, which gave Ripon a 2-0 halftime lead.

Three and a half minutes into the second half, Tim Geocaris scored his third goal of the year to add to Ripon's lead, before Finley Manning capped the scoring with his third goal of the season.

Beloit Goal Keeper Brock Bidwell recorded three saves on the day, while playing all 90 minutes. His counterpart, Kalan Narance registered eight saves to preserve the shutout.

The Buccaneers will try to rebound on Tuesday when they'll travel to UW-Whitewater for a non-conference game, which will begin at 4 p.m. in Whitewater, Wis.
