LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College defeated Beloit's women's basketball team 87-74 in Midwest Conference action Wednesday night. The two teams were tied after one quarter of play, before Lake Forest outscored Beloit 43-20 in the next two quarters to run away with the game.
Beloit (6-9, 2-5 MWC) shot 39 percent (26-67) from the field, including 44 percent (8-18) from 3-point range. They were led by
Hannah Welte's 23 points, which included six 3-pointers.
Addyson Ciochon and
Megan Thompson each added 12 points, while
Elizabeth Kalk scored 11 points, to go along with four rebounds and three assists.
Lake Forest (4-9, 1-5 MWC) converted 48 percent (26-54) of their shots, including 36 percent (4-11) of their 3-pointers. The Foresters were led by Annie Lally's 23 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Katie Neher added 20 points and nine rebounds, while Maurissa Edwards recorded 18 points, five rebounds, and a game-high eight assists.
Beloit will be in action again on Saturday when they'll host Knox College. That game will begin at 1 p.m. at Flood Arena in Beloit, Wis.
