WHITEWATER, Wis. - Beloit College's Track & Field Teams took part in the six-team UW-Whitewater Opener on Saturday. The Buccaneers Men finished sixth with 26 team points, while the women's team placed fifth with 44 team points.
One highlight of the meet for Beloit was the performance of
Jordyn McDonald, who finished second in both the 60 ad 200 meter dash. She ran a 60 meter time of 8.10, while running a 200 time of 26.69, both of which were second to only the second-fastest fime in NCAA Division-III. Beloit's women's 4x200 meter relay also excelled on this day, winning the event with a time of 1:58.42. Members of that winning relay team were
Candis Damste,
Jaeonie Echols,
Darcel Royster, and McKayla Simao.
The men's team's highest finish came in the 4x400 meter relay where
Ajani Joseph,
Alexandre Atou, Dionia Charles, and
Brandon Joly teamed up to run a time of 3:37.77, which was just two seconds shy of the top time.
Emiliano Reyes also had a good showing, finishing third in the shot put with a distance of 45-08.50, which was less than one foot shy of the second-best throw.
Beloit will head back to UW-Whitewater next weekend, with the men's team competing on Friday at 5 p;m. and the women competing Saturday, beginning at Noon in Whitewater, Wis.
