BELOIT, Wis. - Beloit's women's basketball team outscored Illinois College by 10 in the fourth and final quarter Tuesday night, en route to a 56-46 victory over the Lady Blues. Beloit shot 35 percent (19-55) from the field, while holding Illinois College to just 23 percent (14-60) shooting, including 0-for-13 from 3-point range.
Beloit was led by
Hannah Welte's 20 points, three rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
T'Aira Boyance added 12 points and nine rebounds, while also recording six steals, while
Elizabeth Kalk and
Addyson Ciochon each scored eight points. The Buccaneers forced 29 Illinois College turnovers, including 14 steals, which they turned into 28 points.
Illinois College was led by Ashlyn Wightman's 19 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Maya Smith added 12 points and nine rebounds. The game featured six ties and five lead changes. Beloit ended the game on a 10-3 run to earn the victory, converting five of their final six free throws to earn the victory.
Beloit will be in action again on Saturday when they'll travel to Monmouth College. That game will begin at 1 p.m. in Monmouth, Ill.
