GALESBURG, Ill. - The Beloit College Women's Soccer team returned to MWC action today on the road in Galesburg, Ill.. The Buccaneers (4-7-3, 3-0-2) came away with a much needed victory over the Prairie Fire (0-12-1, 0-4-1). BC takes the victory into next week, when they will face the top two teams in the MWC, Lake Forest and Grinnell. 

The Buccaneers' lone goal came from Megan Thompson (Clarendon Hills, Ill.) in the 57th minute. Despite only scoring one goal, BC fired off 20 shots, half of which were on target. The Prairie Fire only recorded two shots. both on goal. 

Maya Betzler (College Place, Wash.) played all 90 minutes in goal, recording two saves. Betzler recorded her first solo clean sheet of the season.  

Beloit returns to the pitch on Wednesday, October 18th in Lake Forest, Ill. against the Foresters. Kick off is set for 4 p.m.
