WAUKESHA, Wis. - Last night the Beloit College Women's basketball team headed just north for a match up with the Pioneers of Carroll University.
The Buccaneers (0-2) were led by Senior
Hannah Welte (Clinton, Wis.). Welte set a new career-high in scoring with 28. Junior
Hadja Bayo (Round Rock, Texas) also set a career-high in rebounds, securing 12 boards. Despite the productivity from Bayo and Welte, the Pioneers (3-0) put together a more complete game and won 68-49.
The Buccaneers shot 6-12 (50%) from down town while CU shot just 2-10, however, Carroll scored 40 points in the paint while Beloit score only 12. Turnovers plagued the Bucs, who turned the ball over 32 times compared to just 23 from Carroll.
The Bucs play their first home game of the season tomorrow Thursday, November 16th against the Lakeland University Muskies. Tip off at Flood Arena is set for 7 p.m.
