AURORA, Ill.- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team traveled to Aurora, Ill. for a game against the Spartans of Aurora University this evening. The Buccaneers (3-2) looked to continue their historic start to the season. However, the Spartans (3-2) had other plans. AU didn't give Beloit much hope, outscoring them in both halves.
The Spartans shot significantly better than the Buccaneers, from the field, behind the arc and at the free throw line. AU also saw more bench production and more fast break points. They only slightly edged Beloit in points in the paint, scoring 30 compared to 28 from BC.
Semaj Roy (Chicago, Ill.) led the Buccaneers with his second double-double of the season, scoring 18 and grabbing 10 boards.
Azeez Ganiyu (Beloit, Wis.) missed out on his third double-double of the season by just one rebound. He scored 15 to go along with 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. No other Buccaneer scored more than 5 points.
Beloit returns to the hardwood on Tuesday, November. 28th in Appleton, Wis. to kick off Midwest Conference play against the Vikings of Lawrence University. Tip off is set for 5:30 pm.
