BELOIT, Wis. - Led by
Azeez Ganiyu (Beloit, Wis.) and his second straight double-double (5th overall), the Buccaneers' handled the Northland College Lumberjacks from start to finish. The Buccaneers' used 40 paint points to assert dominance over the Lumberjacks, who only score 14 points down low. Beloit shot nearly 10% better from the field, 43.6% on 24-55 shooting compared to just 33.3% on 18-54.
The Buccaneers (8-2) took only a four point lead into the break (30-26) before outscoring Northland (0-10) 43-30 over the final twenty minutes of action. Before making their final run, the Bucs' largest lead was 14 with 6:10 to go.
Ganiyu was the only Buc in double figures, the rest of the scoring was well balanced.
Anthony Carter (Greenfield, Wis.) and
Dae'Quan Davis (Chicago, Ill.) each scored nine off the bench.
Michael Myles (Atlanta, Ga.) added eight and
Semaj Roy (Chicago, Ill.) led the team in rebounds, grabbing 12 and scoring seven in a team-high 29 minutes of action.
The Buccaneers have one more contest before the Christmas holiday. They had to River Forest, Ill. on Wednesday, December 20th for a match up with Dominican. Tip off is set for 1pm.
