BELOIT, Wis. - The Beloit College Women's basketball team hosted the Regents of Rockford University this afternoon in their home game before Christmas. The Buccaneers (2-9) were outmatched by Rockford (4-4) and fell by the final score of 59-51.
While neither team shot particularly well, the Regents shot 34% (28-53) compared to 32.7% (17-52) for the Bucs. Rockford out-rebounded Beloit 46-29 but the Bucs scored more in the paint, 24-14. The closest the Buccaneers got in the 2nd half was within five off a layup from J
Johanna McNair (Fishers, Ind.) with 9:06 remaining.
Three Buccaneers recorded double-digit scoring in the loss.
Elizabeth Kalk (Clinton, Wis.) led with 15 points, four rebounds and four steals while playing all forty minutes. Off the bench,
Hailey Johnson (South Milwaukee, Wis.) added 12 points and two rebounds.
Hannah Welte (Clinton, Wis.) scored her ten and grabbed four rebounds and two steals before she fouled out with two minutes to go.
The Buccaneers' take a break for the Christmas Holiday before returning home to Flood Arena. They host Alverno on Saturday, December 30th. Tip off is set for 3 pm.
