BELOIT, Wis. - The Beloit College Women's basketball team hosted the Red Hawks of Ripon College tonight for their Midwest Conference home opener. The Buccaneers (2-7, 1-2) were looking to win back-to-back games for the first time this season. Standing in their way were the Red Hawks (3-4, 2-0). 

Ripon proved to be too much for Beloit to handle. Leading in every major category, the Red Hawks used their size to control the boards, out rebounding 33-14. Neither team shot particularly well from the deep, combining for only 4 made three pointers. However, the Bucs went 2-18 while the Red Hawks went 2-8. 

Liz Kalk led the Buccaneers once again in scoring, tallying 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. The next highest scorers for Beloit were Johanna McNair and Hailey Johnson with 8 each. McNair added 4 rebounds and 3 steals while Johnson grabbed 2 boards and swatted 2 balls. 

The Buccaneers head to Mount Vernon, Iowa on Saturday for a matchup with the Rams of Cornell College. Tip off is set for 3pm, following the conclusion of the Men's game.
