Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Cornell Pulls Away from Buccaneers

BELOIT, Wis. - Beloit's men's lacrosse team lost to Cornell College by a score of 11-5 in a game that was much closer than the final score indicated. Nearly half of Cornell's goals (5) came in the final quarter, while the Rams also held a 39-23 shot advantage in the contest.

Beloit (0-3) started the game with all the momentum, as they scored the first two goals of the day, thanks to Adrian Camacho and Will Palmer. Cornell (2-5) would score the next five goals in the second quarter to take a 5-2 halftime lead.

The Buccaneers began the second half just like the first - with a pair of goals. Liam Walker found the net on both, taking assists from Palmer and Camacho, respectively, to cut the Rams lead to one. Cornell added a goal in the final minutes of the third quarter, but Beloit would get that goal back in the opening minute of the fourth when Palmer found the net, unassisted, cutting the Cornell lead to 6-5. The Rams would then score the final five goals to cap the scoring and escape with the victory.

Cole Conway played all 60 minutes at Goal Keeper for the Buccaneers, making 20 saves. His counterpart Thomas Ccok also played the entire game, recording 13 saves.

Beloit will be in action again on Wednesday when they'll travel to University of Dubuque. That game will begin at 7 p.m. in Dubuque, Iowa.
