Beloit Bats Come Alive In Rout of SUNY-Canton

DAVENPORT, Fla. - Beloit reorded 10 hits, while allowing just three Tuesday afternoon, en route to a 14-2 seven-inning win against SUNY-Canton. Half of the Buccaneers' hits (5) went for extra bases.

Beloit (3-2) wasted no time getting on the board, scoring three runs in the top of the first, with all of them coming on a home run to right field off the bat of Connor Vogel. Vogel added a two-run double in the fourth, before SUNY-Canton finally got on the board with a pair of runs in the fifth. Beloit then put the game away with a six-run sixth inning, which was highlighted by a two-run double by both Miles Souza and A.J. Fitzpatrick. Vogel added an RBI single in that inning, before scoring on a wild pitch. The Buccaneers would cap the scoring in the top of the seventh, which saw them score three more runs, which included an RBI single from Zenger.

Vogel's monster day saw him go 4-for-5 at the plate with six RBI, and three runs scored. Souza and Garrison Ferone each added two hits, while Zenger and Fitzpatrick also reached base with a hit. The Buccaneers also stole four bases, including two swipes by Zenger. Thomas Kosakowski pitched six strong innings of three-hit ball, allowing two runs and striking out five. Joshua Stern pitched the final inning, striking out the side.

The Buccaneers will be in action again on Thursday when they'll play Central and Amerherst at 9:15 and 12:45 Eastern Time, respectively. Both of those games will be played at Lake Myrtle Field in Auburndale, Fla., and can be followed via LiveStats at BELOIT 14 SUNY CAN 2 Final (beloitcollegeathletics.com).
